  1. The record of going without sleep is not eight days. That is a grossly inaccurate statement. The record is actually 400 days. It’s actually more than 400 days. I think it’s maybe, well, I know, for a fact is more than one year. It was an experiment done by the military. How it was explained, to me, if my memory serves correct. I didn’t watch your full episode by the way. I just saw an excerpt on TikTok. And I felt the need to correct you. Because you are quite informative podcast. Now, however, now that I see so called experts Making these claims when I know flat out that they’re grossly wrong. Now it just affects the podcast credibility.

    I’m sure somebody can explain it better than me. Sleep is a buildup of toxins in the system. And if you can flush those toxins out of the system, and replenish the necessary chemicals in the body that allow person to be recuperated for the next day, You theoretically can stay awake for a very very long time. When the body goes into a so-called hibernation state, it allows the body to slow down and focus more on purging the toxins of the system.

    With the military wanted to do, is used such systems of procedures, and supplements, experimental supplements to find a way to keep the human body awake. And to find out how long the human body forest last the brain, can keep focussed through sleep decoration, for as long as possible. And what they got up to last time I looked, was somewhere around 400 days. Mind you, the test subjects eventually succumbed to the experiments.

    I’m sure, that in the last 20 years, since that test has been done, or that experiment has been done, they have found better ways of keeping somebody awake. In fact, I would consider that to be Nolan particular point. Because now you have Synthetic resources.

I would add though that income also affects what youre eating if youre poor youre buying cheaper processed and unhealthy food anyways and yes you eat more due to the sleep depravation but the cost of food in the US is insane right now especially healthy non processed foods i mean even milk has obviously skyrocketed over the past couple years and people who dont have the income have had to cut things like that out of their diet or they buy the milk but then they dont have the money for healthier foods and buy cheaper processed foods
