Ben is very overrated so far. He doesn’t look like he’s in that good of shape when he fights I see it being a easy pay check for gsp if they ever fought. We just haven’t seen Ben against top talent
I agree with Eddie. Not knowing about gsp grappling not been on level of gsp. Gsp has trained with Canadian Olympic wrestling team for 15 yrs. Askren has never fought no one in same category as gsp. He'd get handled by anyone in top five in ufc
Funny thing about this Ben Askren when you do a lil research on him. In recent interviews he mentions how he feels other MMA organizations don't get a fair shake when compared to the UFC and names off all these great champions in the UFC who came through Strike Force. Guys like DC, Nick Diaz, Lawler and quite a few of them happen to be welterweights. The funny thing is not once had Askren fought any of them. In fact, Ben has fought zero guys who would be considered successful in the MMA world so why the hell is this guy even being talked about. We all find it funny as hell when Mayweather crossing over from boxing to MMA is mentioned as a "could happen" but here we have Joe and dip shit Shaub constantly referring to Ben's dominating wrestling skills. This is not the fucking Olympics and this sure as hell isn't the place wrestlers win by wrestling, BJJ black belts win in a MMA fight most days and it's due to the vast amount of submissions they can throw on some lame ass who is trying to score a win by pinning your shoulder to the mat.
