Drug use during ur teens and early 20s can trigger psychosis that often precipitates the onset of schizophrenia. Drugs however don't cause schizophrenia and while its definitely possible to experience drug-induced psychosis, in ab otherwise "healthy" mind, this will eventually subside once the drugs are discontinued. Basically if schizophrenia occurs, it was going to occur no matter what.
Don’t do drugs if you are mentally ill. Seriously not worth it.
My ex husband has an Uncle who is Schizophrenic. We were together for 8 years. I talked to my Husband about how at risk he is. He gave up everything except weed. The last year and a half my Husband changed. He was saying "I don't want to go and I don't want you to go." He suddemly wanted to isolate. He had major opportunities and suddenly didn't want them. I no longer felt safe around him. I miss the man I had for most of the time terribly. He refuses to get help. I lost to mental illness. Maybe it would have happened anyway but there were times he was off of everything..even he knew his mind was better during those times. It makes me sad..but it also makes me angry.
