For those saying that when you move to another country, you pick up on their accent, I agree 1000%. When I moved to England I definitely started saying some words with a British accent. However, she speaks fluent Portuguese, and she moved to Brazil and probably 99.99% of the time spoke Portuguese. That should have almost no effect on her English, because why would you speak English to Brazilians when you speak Portuguese? Makes no sense
This thread should see my Brazilian friends after 10 years in North America, forgetting how to speak Portuguese. Americans find it weird because 99% of the time, foreigners are trying to get better in English instead of the opposite.. I mean, exposing to another culture.
It's natural when you are spending so much time with a completely different language and culture. I changed my accent in Brazil after moving from a small town to the capital.
Ohhh man, I don't know if she has been faking her accent, I am brasilian who has been living in Sydney the last 8 years, every time I visit my family in Sao Paulo and my former Jiu-Jitsu gym, everyone says that I have a very funny accent. It could be true, who know, now I can see her accent changed a bit from 2011 as I watched a few YT, but it can be true, and that does not mattee at all, at least she speaks fluently 2 languages now, maybe more than those.n
