An Orcas brain is about 5 times the size of a human brain and they have highly developed insula and cingulate sulcus, meaning their self-awareness, understanding of social relationships snd emphathy is highly developed. In fact, they have even more intricate folding and detail in their paralimbic system than us humans, meaning they might even be better at processing emotion than we are. Male Orcas also never leave their mothers side during their whole life (which btw, Orcas can live up to 80 years im the wild, in captivity it's half of that at most) and Orcas from different regions also habe different dialects. So imagine you take such a highly emotionally intelligent animal away from his mother at such a young age and put it into a tiny aquarium with other animals it can't even communicate with, jave it perform tricks for you everyday just so you can habe your entertainment while the Orca is slowly but surely withering away and eventually dying from depression, literally. It's such a messed up concept, idk how they're still allowed to do it.
