  1. As a person who was born and raised in Oahu Hawaii, leeward side like Max, fist fighting is almost a daily occurrence. It’s common to see UFC level fights happening in our high schools. Not as much these days, but in the 90’s to early 2000’s, a local boy gets into around 2-3 fights a week. Seriously, high school kids in Hawaii fight like UFC fighters. Max’s odd style is from his childhood fights. Guns and knives was never an issue, until recently, so Max has literally had a lifetime to train and grow his skill. In High School, kids know not to yell and cheer when a fight breaks out to avoid teachers and security from breaking up the fight. You knew a fight was happening when it got quiet. I’m 100% sure that Hawaii could fill the entire UFC roster but fighting is such a deep part of our culture that the best of us don’t see it as a “living” and just ignore it as a possible income.
