Ron has serious lung issues.
The problem with making penicillin otc is the fact that our bodies build up immunity to cephalosporins. That is potentially a catastrophic future event where we are born with resistance to penicillin because of frivolous unregulated use. Also you really need a culture to see what strain of bacterial or viral pathogens you are trying to kill. So no……. making penicillin available over the counter is a awful prospect and potentially catastrophic.
