The problem is we are using our A.I. to search for alien symbols. My thinking is that we are searching for Alien signals from a species or A.I. from a culture we have no idea about, using a new technology we really do not understand. How anyone thinks this is a good idea is beyond me just think what will happen when our caveman A.I. finds a signal from a Alien technology light years ahead of us. One trojan horse signal sent to our A.I. could be a disaster for us.
Which movie did they mean? Joe saying top 20 all time movie for him??
The GOOD things about Dr Frank are 1) he's a physicist, so no flat earth moonlanding denial christian muslims religionist bullshit from him,
and 2) he is single-issue voter on tackling AGW, which I wish everyone else were, too.
Saw thumbnail with stupid title. Came here to thumb down. First, the plural of UFO is UFOs, not UFO's. Secondly, UFOs and AI have nothing important to do with each other. Thirdly, there are no problems with AI or UFOs. There ARE problems with idiots brainlessly screaming about artificial intelligence & robots "taking over the world". I wish they WOULD. But, they can't. AI and robots are human technological creations which are INCREDIBLY difficult to create, which are subject to all the same physical laws we are, dependence on energy, dependence on a nice clean dry area to be maintained. So the natural tendency is for robots and computers with AI to NOT exist, not the opposite.
And on the topic of UFOs: I know for an absolute fact that anyone who spouts bullshit claims that they don't exist proves they know nothing about the subject. First, because, they would NEVER say "UFOs don't exist". Yes, UFOs exist. USOs exist. Unsolved problems exist. Unsolved crimes exist. UFO & USO does NOT imply alien.
Secondly, for those who DO believe some UFOs & USOs are alien do so because they have read the actual sighting reports,
something which I know for a fact Dr Frank nor Michael Shermer have never done.
