Identity politics is fundamentally racist because it boils people down to immutable traits, instead of their character and actions.
People do look at race for sure but I don’t think it’s everything. An Chinese certainly don’t get along with the Japanese. A black Japanese won’t get along with an African American. Race affects representation, beauty standard, beauty trend but other than these it affects less. As a chinese, I find it racist when someone pull a random Asian American grew up in white neighborhood trying to relate to me
The reason people are looking to the Federal Government is because they are tired of Boss Hogg local yocals running their lives and trampling their rights. A state provides no better protection of your rights, where the Federal Government could, and does. Case in Point: Florida. The biggest mistake the Republican Party ever made was getting in the bed with the Christian Taliban and their agenda to micro-manage society. It used to be called the Moral Majority.
