  1. I completely disagree I truly believe that if everyone was truly trying to land oblique kicks it would destroy the ufc. What it takes for Someone really trying to defend against someone landing that kick destroys all momentum of the fight.

Thank his most fighters don’t employ it or it is relatively rare.

  2. They're waiting for a hugely profitable fighter to have his career ended, THEN they'll ban it. Strikes can end careers, kill, sure. But in almost every single instance that isn't the case — it's from cumulative damage. Years of hits. You have an option to keep fighting or retire. Submissions you have a risk of immediate damage and surgery — but usually it's in your hands, you can choose to tap or risk injury and keep struggling. Oblique kicks/side knee kicks have ZERO opportunity to not take career changing, or ending, damage from. The sole purpose of that move is to put a fighter out for a very long time, and possibly never return. If we're just gonna say "rock paper scissors" then don't be a hypocrite, advocate for all of it. Headbutts need to come back — fight around it, change your tactics. Groin punches are back. We can risk never walking again, why can't you risk never having kids? You make that choice when you step into the ring. Better use your rock paper scissors technique and try harder to not get in that position. ** Also, viable kicks? throat punches are viable, back of the head strikes are viable, EYE gouging is viable/effective. This isn't a fucking street fight. It isn't about what's VIABLE. It's a sport.
