If you do 100 weighted pullups every 3 days you beat the guy doing 20 a day 😂
Never take advice from someone you don’t want to look like 🤐
This is an perfect explanation on how to work out alot with making the least amount of progress😂
He's absolutely right when it comes to progress, but not when it comes to flow state. You could achieve flow state from consistency approach. It's possible but rare. Familiarity with the routine and predictable environment reduces mental load, which definitely helps. And you can practise your ''entrance''. But flow state is not nearly as easily achieved as compared to an intensity approach, because often the session was cut off too early. You simply weren't stretched enough to get into that state of mind, whereas Intense work sessions trigger hyperfocus allowing you to enter flow state with a lot less difficulty. If you can do 10x pull ups and you stop at 5x, that is too few, you need 8. You're too far away from the border with 5x. Flow state happens usually in the early stage of intensity. Secondly, the consistency approach is too familiar for flow state. There is too much order. Of course this depends on a multitude of factors and I am speaking in generalities. Also people have different definitions for ''intensity''. But there is a crucial fact to consider here – besides losing sense of time, flow state kills fatigue. It's not that it ''energizes'' you, but more like it disables ''fatigue'' like it does with time perception, hunger, thoughts and other things. Obviously this is temporarily and after some time when flow state ends these things will kick in, but the trick is to quit before that occurs and not be greedy. Otherwise you need to recover from that (too much). A 3hour-podcast with Jordan Peterson can definitely be considered ''intense'' and I achieve flow state from listening to that. But when a topic is discussed that I dislike – identity politics – the flow state is abruptly interrupted. Gone. But I am not hating on the guy, im impressed by his knowledge and to speak for 3-hours straight is not easy. I am quite obsessed with flow state, because there is nothing in the world that I enjoy more, than being in it.
Alot of reps will build muscle and make you look fuller but it wont increase strength necessarily
