I get it. It seems cheesey or hokey to laugh at the 'Power Team", especially as non believers in Jesus or a God, However; it was a message behind all the feats of strength. The message was towards a younger audience who would quickly get bored during regular sermons or who did not know Christ. The message was all about love, devotion, dedication, and to make one believe that anything is possible if you try hard enough, have faith, and believe not just in the Lord, but yourself. So knock them all you want. I'd rather see and listen to the Power Team instead of paying $5,000 to see Tony Robbins live just to see that wierd stupid clapping and other BS that he does and talks about. But I assume you probably approve of Tony Robbins because he doesn't bring religion into his dialogues when in fact, most motivational speakers use the same concepts that began with the Bible, Qu'ran, and many other religions. They simply turn it into their own style, while sharpening their skills, and eventually use the one that starts making them money. Also, many of these motivational speakers, which to be fair also includes many religious leaders too, are egotistical narcissists who get off on having power over you while at the same time taking your money. So I would say the Power Team is not that bad and you clearly missed the point of their actions and message. You don't need to disrespect or make fun of people who don't fit your beliefs or narrative. Your better than that Mr. Rogan.
My now 32 year old son watched them and they inspired him to be different then the kids in school who did drugs! He stayed the course!
I can confidently say they did not do steriods. Went to High School with members in the '70's
Righteous Gemstones made a funny parody on it
Christians will use any method to guilt trip people and use these emotional appeals all the time. This show was so embarrassing.
