Southern states should think about the following: If you want to have a Civil War to become your own separate country…….. 1st, you will lose ALL federal funding. That's right. All that money you put towards Social Security will be gone. 2nd, if another country attacks you the northern rich states will not help you. 3rd, all the immigrants you want to keep out will become a true nightmare to you because now you only have a handful of states to handle millions of immigrants coming into your new country. 4th, most southern states are poor. Only Texas is truly rich. 5th, some of the southern states won't want to be part of the new southern country. Especially, places like Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, New Mexico. So what are you left then with in the south to form your new country ?? Texas, the Carolina states, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Missisippi, Kansas, Alabama, maybe Utah will join your republican party country, Florida. But, other than Texas and Florida most of those states in the south may have some big cities. But, most are empty poor land. You will be screwed economically. A lot of the retirees currently living in the south will come back north to their home states like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. So, think it through southerners when you are thinking about succeeding the union.
