It seems to me that the reason Jordan Peterson became polarising is when he stood up against bill c16, the "lgbtxxxx community" social justice warriors decided that he was an anti gay , anti lgbt, anti xxx etc, and they declared him an enemy and declared war on him.
Once that happened the war machine was set in motion and most of the minions couldn't have an unbiased view of him and anything he said would be interpreted by the bias.
Because he makes some good points and says some dumb shit but many people want to cast him as the devil or the next coming of Jesus and rather worryingly that isn't even hyperbole in some cases
Because Peterson is more appealing and more dangerous to them than the now defunct Alt Right, and its disgraced leaders, ever was.
