I don't doubt the veracity of Roseanne's claims of mental health issues, pharmaceutical treatment for same and the Ambien/alcohol basis for her behaviour. I can't speak to any claims around her alleged racism beyond the quite lightweight, 'She doesn't strike me as being racist'. Lighter than lightweight. Bantamweight.
I do feel a bit ambivalent around the Roseanne stuff. I've heard Roseanne and others give the impression that her mental health issues are treated with a multiplicity of medications. I've also heard that Roseanne was prescribed Ambien as a result of sitcom reboot-related insomnia. Even taking all that on face value throws up a question or two. Did Roseanne's physician/s explicitly warn her that mixing alcohol and zolpidem (Ambien) may result in temporary anterograde amnesia? Was Roseanne over-prescribed generally? And does Roseanne only take the prescribed doses of each drug?
On the flipside, it's surely incumbent on Roseanne to understand and manage her own meds, or pay someone to do it. I can easily buy that her tweet was not racially motivated, but it also didn't occur in a vacuum. From what I gather, Roseanne's weirdy tweets preceded her. The difference? She was performing on a network sitcom, at a time when manufactured indignation has never been so popular.
