For decades, we have had a government full of criminals selling us out to our "allies" and special interests for personal gain. As such, default on our debt, hyperinflation, and bankruptcy are imminent. After this happens, we will no longer have the Petrodollar to take advantage of. Trump is trying to make sure we have strong manufacturing, fair trade, and "allies" who can fend for themselves in order to recover from this coming event. I believe Ross Perot was our last chance to turn things around and avoid this. I speculate this will take place during Trump’s second term, and we will emerge with a new currency afterward.
