The Holy Spirit is here now in person with which Jesus Christ had prophesied of – the another Helper. It is not a mystical being that we all imagined for God works through people, and just as Jesus Christ came in flesh, so has the spirit of truth
About 20 years ago, I was losing faith in Jesus. I was still very god fearing but was having troubles reconciling the differences between the new and Old Testament. Then one night not much different then many nights before it, got incredibly drunk with a crazy roommate and proceeded Togo driving and with my drunken roommates encouragement floored my Saturn coup with rather bald tires. Suddenly I lost control of my car and was going sideways down the road. My front tires were stuck in concrete ditch, I was gripping the steering wheel when I blacked out. When I came to, I noticed that airbag had deployed and that the car had flipped. The roof on the car was bent inward and had cut me a few inches above my neck. Living off the I95 corridor I at developed the habit of always wearing my seat belt. But when I looked in the passenger seat I noticed my roommate was gone! Where was my nonseatbelt wearing crazy roommate? As I’m body was filled with fear I quickly no longer felt drunk and managed to leave my mangled car. Then I found on the road! Some how he had been thrown from the car out his open window and now was laying in the road like Christ was hanging on the cross. Then the real miracle happened. He would live and suffered only a concussion and minor road rash.
My lack of belief in Christ died that night, and a decade later an religious neighbor cleared up any logical questions I had about the differences between the new and Old Testament. I believe that not all are chosen, but this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t share the word because this sharing of the word may be the tool that god uses to recruit believers.
