Yeah the rubber match makes no sense. No one likes rubber matches. The UFC knows what the asking price from both contestants would be and would rather do just like they did to Nick and try to put a loss on his or Conors record first before paying them for that fight. For them it's basically the same draw if one or both acquire a loss before hand. The UFC will still make major stacks off of it but Conor or Nate or both will lose leveraging on there paydays if they lose. I watched this play out with Nick. The UFC is being too greedy to give the fans what they want to see… the rubber match that never happened.
At least Dustin even though he did get knocked out by Michael lame-ass Johnson fights consistently in the rankings to improve his ranking to get a championship title shot. Nate Diaz does not fight in the rankings or he does not deserve a title shot until he fights consistently in the rankings to earn a title shot again because realistically he's got more Talent than most fighters in the UFC but he wasted all being a jackass and flipping people off and talking crap and laying down in the middle of the Ring during a fight if he's all that good how come he just doesn't finish the fights in the first round?
