  1. Weight-cutting and PEDs go hand in hand. Humans cannot naturally deplete themselves to the bare bones and then compete in an mma fight the next day. Its just not possible naturally.

Fighters need steroids to cut as much weight as possible and to increase their recovery which allows them to compete after a weight cut

  2. I hate this racist ass Rogan but the difference between cutting is that both fighters could legally do it, but if you cut that much your gas tank will take a major hit. Peds is cheating because someone will be doing them and the other one won’t because everyone isn’t cheating. Peds will 100% make your performance better! There is no fight night downfall from it like cutting weight!

  3. Joe is absolutely 100% correct. The UFC badlyyyyy needs hydration testing. Holloway weighing 180lbs fighting at 145lbs was just pathetic. Then he's showboating beating frankie Edgar who was at least fighting at/ near his natural weight. When Holloway fought guys his actual weight he lost every time so really he was mid and people were calling him goat ha. Same with khabib, Connor. It's less about skill now and more about extreme weight cutting. This isn't the reason I became a fan and it makes a farce of weight classes.

  4. The conversations surrounding this controversy are painfully difficult to listen to, partly because a lot of these people don’t know what they’re talking about, or they’re tip-toeing around and avoiding the actual solutions, while offering all sorts of bullshit Band Aid fixes they hope will delay any real serious action/change in combat sports.
I say a fighter’s weight should be a central datum point in their “biological passport,” and that just as USADA can randomly test fighters for months before a fight, the sanctioning bodies or league representatives should be weighing all fighters on a regular basis to get an idea of what they typically weight throughout the year, at least 12-15 individual measurements each year. And when matching fighters for a potential fight, the weight class they fight at should be declared during negotiations, but ultimately it can’t be 5% more OR less than their average weight over the last, say, 12 months. That way, they get time to get into shape, they find a comfortable weight for the performance level they wish to achieve, and this insane ritual of weight-cutting can once and for all be relegated to history books.
