I don't think late night TV will ever go away, but it's clearly lessened with importance. Plus it's a fun thing to do if you are visiting New York or Los Angeles, try to be part of the audience of a professional late night studio show. That will always be fun no matter what year it is, if it's 1954 or 2024. People love to be part of the audience of these late night shows, SNL is still a big thing regarding being in the audience. These guys can laugh at late night being something from the 1950s or 1990s (or 1900s if ur using Gen Z talk) but it's still a cool thing to do if your visiting New York or L.A., or hell even if you live there, to stand in line at 4am so you get to be part of the 5pm taping of a professional show with celebrity guests and a band. Nobody really is standing in line to get in to watch a podcast out of some dude's basement, but I'm not sure if any podcasters have an audience.
Comedians haven't hosted late night shows for decades.
Joe shouldve stopped comedy a long time ago
