Just randomly came across this podcast.Very interesting.I've seen both interviewer and interviewee quite often.Joe was as usual rock solid.This time Elon was to my mind flaky……..first time that thought ever crossed my mind about one of my heroes….which he is.He suggested that the story of fossil fuels…..past and current was a sin on humanity………that suggestion on both the legacy of fossil fuel use and current need to use same is just plain wrong/misleading.He continuously plugged his EVs ……downplaying their deficiencies of which there are many.Why did he not mention 4th Generation Nuclear Power…as a potential solution.He ignored the fact that increased CO2 in the atmosphere follows Global Temperature increase and not the other way round.He exaggerated Ice Melting and Global Sea Rise in a flippant manner.He talked about consensus…….although he did grudgingly concede that although Global warming is accepted by all climate scientists……..that this phenomenon is an existential crisis is the view of only a tiny minority and is not the view of IPCC SCIENTISTS. Currently batteries can only store 1 or 2mins as far as I know……what's the point.also wind and solar………what happens at night and when there's no wind?…..and we've cancelled all fossil fuel usage?…….I can't see ELON'S rationale here……apart from "buy a Tesla".
Sorry to burst your bubble americans, It’s doesn’t generate capital to use renewables, that’s why, what your politicians and celebrities are saying vs what they are really doing is so contradictory, your dollar is backed by oil, if that’s not the case, why US ever need to pressure Saudi to not sell oil in Yuan? It’s a big mystery isn’t it? It really does not take a genius to see that.
