Unfortunately my childhood bully was my 4th grade teacher. I lived in a really fucked up situation and my 4th grade teacher would belittle me in class. I definitely was a difficult kid (noisy, inattentive) but the way she'd make fun of me in front of the class was pretty damned pathetic. When I eventually went to college, I graduate Summa Cum Laude, and I encountered her at Wal-Mart. In an attempt to set aside my bitterness I came up to her and said hello, and falsely assumed she'd be grateful to know her former student was doing well. Instead, she made some sort of comment about being surprised that I was succeeding. I can't even remember word for word, because I was so stunned. I just walked away. What a sad person she was.
