In my experience, the keto dieters are the most fanatical about their diet model. You can't argue with them. They just trot out a lot of "facts" and how the human body works — even though most have no advanced training in biology, nutrition, or exercise science. Some people think this is because diet is replacing religion. Maybe for some, true, but I think it's because these extreme diets do work to some extent in helping people to lose weight. But as someone (maybe Dr. Norton) pointed out somewhere, so does chemotherapy. Just because something works in the short term doesn't mean it's healthy in the long term. Probably a good measure of how healthy a diet may be, is how many supplements have to be added to the diet to keep you healthy?
