I’ll never forget this girl in my gym would be running frantically on the treadmill, and I mean she looked like a skeleton running, it was so disturbing. Then she would jump off and run over to the scale and stand on it looking concerned as she read the results. It was all I could do but go say something to her, like, “what are you doing? This is nuts! You’re going to die doing this!!” But I thought, shit, she’s probably had a hundred people already tell her that. Who the hell am I to think my concern would make any difference.
