I can understand Joe's opinions about what he thinks as boring literature with pretenses of being deep (He's not a fiction writer, after all), but I can't understand Nick's blind agreement with it. He's a very good writer who has penned some of this boring literature himself, and damn good at that (The Fighter is a great book). He wasted an opportunity to engage with Joe and maybe even convince him about not being too obtuse and try some of it. Maybe Nick was just scared of being at Joe's turf and speaking his mind? Still, great show.
