The most underrated skill taught by math is logical thinking. Anyone who considers their self a strategist or a planner should consider math skill an asset just like an engineer or a scientist considers math skill an asset. You get all of this practice getting these "a-ha" moments solving problems you thought were impossible, because you just didn't think about putting the pieces together in a certain way.
You get all of these problems with information that looks incomplete, and the solution entails realizing how the information set actually is complete. Routinely failing to realize we have enough info to solve a problem has to be one of the top 3 shortcomings of any professional.
