The original made for TV version of IT was the first “movie” that gave me nightmares and legitimately scared me as a kid. My neighborhood friends and I would always watch horror movies at sleepovers and Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th were fun scares, but something about that clown eating kids had us terrified. I remember the next day we were riding our bikes around and none of would go near the sewer drains in the street lol. Watching it now as an adult it’s pretty corny, although I can still appreciate Tim Curry’s role as Pennywise.
I highly recommend the audiobook for Carrie, it's read by Sissy Spacek.
