I lol @32min when Joe Quirk said he was working with a company named Delta Sync and he spelt it out. I was thinking Sink is not a good name for a company working on a floating city.
Lack of regulation is what killed the bison huh? What I heard was there was either a government bounty or a nod of appreciation for killing off a main food source of the plains native people.
The fact remains that if you have on the one hand a farmer/rancher/zoo and the other hand a government regulator, the one who directly owns the animal, specifically the ones that profit from its continued existence, have more incentive to keep the animal species alive then some bureaucrat who's failure would only bring his or her department more funding.
Regulation comes from yourself. If someone offers you a miracle pill but makes you sign a waiver saying you can't sue, you should do some research! Obviously there should be external regulation on things that are available to children or the incapable, but if we are equals how can I tell you which medical procedure is acceptable? This should become even more clear when you realize the hidden next step that is ignored in all political arguments, after I win the regulatory battle I enforce my opinion on you at the point of a gun, under threat of kidnapping and forcible confinement.
Its almost funny that the busy body regulators think they can tell you what is safe while at the same time threatening you with deadly force for using whatever supposedly dangerous thing they are so scared of.
very interesting
