"Why were wolves reintroduced into Yellowstone?" Because they're part of the natural fauna of the region. Elk populations were way too high, causing a lot of damage to the forests in that area. Having predators is part of bringing in the natural balance into an ecosystem. I'm totally cool with hunting, but having a healthy, self regulating ecosystem in place is important. If you're too much of a wuss to go out and compete with the natural predators, maybe you shouldn't hunt..
