"Public shaming?" He is a politician and he deliberately and repeatedly lied about his Vietnam service. The "man" has no shame. And remember, Connecticut has had several felons run for Governor and Mayor, so the voters don't care about the "moral character" of their elected officials only about what those officials will give them.
As for "How could he be elected?" How many consecutive terms did Teddy Kennedy get elected to AFTER killing Mary Jo Kopechne?
No one has any right to complain about how our country is governed. We keep voting the scoundrels into office.
