Then he gets his head blown off and the entire western world goes into intense mourning and loss of innocence. With nuclear Armageddon looming it must have felt like the end of the world. Then suddenly here come The Beatles with all their charm and optimism to reawaken all those young millions and give them all hope and a reason to live again with the promise of a new age of love. They weren’t just a rock band. They led an entire social revolution and held as much influence over the masses as any political or religious leaders of the time. No wonder the young girls went bat-shit crazy.
