It's suspected that I have cte..of course a definitive diagnosis can only be made after death. but I have all the classic symptoms of cte.. they are getting to the point in the medical field that it will be diagnosed before death.. let me tell you I love sports and was very dedicated to it .as much as I love sports I'm living with the results and it's not good..I'm living with an uncertain future.im 50 years old and don't know if at some point I'll even recognize my own children.. when you're faced with that possibility your opinions change..I used to look at it in a non chalant way but not today.i don't even follow mma any longer..it's time we look at things differently in society as far as competitive sports.
I used to ride bulls before there was helmets and guys were just tuff nut cowboys. Get knocked out and wake up and you was told walk it off. I've been diagnosed with CTE and you guys do not know what someone really goes through. My family doesn't understand cause I can walk and talk. So I just stay away from them. I haven't seen my mom in a long time. I spend every holiday alone or with friends. I'm known as the crazy cowboy. I guess maybe I am idk. I know the police call if they need to come to my house. I don't have insurance or anything like that so I just take one day at a time and try not to snap. Let's just say everyone keeps there distance. And of course everyone thinks it's the alcohol or he's on drugs cause they don't take the time to even find out I quit drinking and drugs 5 years ago. The hell with them I'll be ok
At what point do 'we' (you) admit that you've made millions from a sport that has damaged thousands of brains? Fans love the big hits, and you've helped make MMA a household name. At what point will you feel anything for the suffering families, suicides, domestic violence that you helped bring about? C'mon, Joe, you know just how bad CTE is, and yet here you are still making money from it one way or another.
