Me and 2 friends once swam alongside a big pod of dolphins a couple miles off the coast of the Azores (São Jorge island, middle of the Atlantic). A couple of them really noticed us and actually swam in our direction, before losing interest and diving down into the deep blue where we obviously couldn't follow. Not going to lie, my heart skipped a beat, but it was such an amazing experience. They're bigger than they look, thick, but move so elegantly
