I sort of blame Disney for anthropomorphizing everything under the sun..We aren't allowed to consume "Pet animals" that were once legal food. But if you let a dog grow up without human influence, it still behaves like a coyote would. And even the tame ones will attack and kill live stock. So even these creatures people want to think of as funny looking humans are still only half a step away from wild. People's refusal to accept basic reality always astounds me.
