  1. my question is…. why do they check weight the day before the fight? Actually the morning of the day before the fight. If a guy fights at 170 he gets on the scale he is 170 or 171. Then leaves starts drinking and eating gets to fight time he may weight 180 plus. That may be a reach, however a whole lot more than the weight class permits. So, why dont they check weight right before they go into the octagon and be 170 at fight time. Wouldn't that stop a lot of this?

  2. No the REAL danger of MMA is not a long term head injury or even a general long term injury.

The REAL danger is not what YOU know but what you don't know and your opponent does know, I.E take Antonia Nogueira V's Bob Sapp, Sapp went to drop A.N on his head luckly he knew to grab Bobb Sapps leg instantly had he not done so he'd be in a wheel chair now,….so the real risk in MMA is basically knowing and studying the rule book and interpreting any gray areas to your advantage….in other words actually understanding that you can die in a cage and you'll only have yourself to blame if you do.

BTW its easy for Rogan to sit there 25 years after the event and say he would have competed, but lets be honest he has had ample opportunity to do so,….the way he talks about fighting sober makes me wonder how the HELL he talks about it when he's drunk, he probable thinks he's Thor. I reckon he should actually put his fist where his mouth is and do an over 40's event, then we''ll see.
