The increasing divide on campus is indicative of the high stakes scenario that we as a species now finds ourselves in. Climate change deniers are more often than not right wing as they are advocates of a free, unimpeded market in which big coal and gas can get on with business as usual. That is why the issue of climate change is a politically charged debate. Global political mainstream trends are generally out weighed towards the "right" in favour of big business. It seems that one of the only places "the left" have a real voice is on the university campus.
