born in 83, growing up in west Texas hunting season as a lot of places is almost a religion, couldnt wait for deer season, especially if it was extremely cold couple weeks going into the season, all the grandpas, dads, sons, brothers, uncles, cousins. virtually all the boys, could not wait for deer season, not 1 girl. Not 1 ever wanted to go. little girl first time wanted to go to spend time with daddy but always they were ready to go back back before even left the driveway. the tomboys didnt want to go, I have never met a girl anywhere who loved hunting, a couple redneck girls who liked fishing but usually drink a beer while chatting with their friends, not so much on the actual fishing part.
closest i have ever seen a girl hunt is some teen girl helping out in the processing shop only because it was a family business.
I would think back in the Neanderthal days women didnt hunt because they can carry a child which made them more valuable to the tride then men so the men even though were stronger but were more disposable to the tribe were if a man died it wouldnt hurt the tribe as bad compared to a woman
Hunting is like a lot of things, if you get the bug, you're going to live the life. If ya don't, ya don't. Usually girls kinda grow out of it (its a daddy's girl thing) once they discover boys; but not always… I've seen siblings who one hunts and one doesn't. Like I said "gets in your blood" or not.
