here is the thing about oumuamua, as far as the mainstream scientists are concerned, any theory that does not include aliens, no matter how improbable or implausible, must be considered long before aliens being given as the answer unless aliens come down and say "YUP WE DID IT" they will never except any alien based theory for anything in space.
as a society, if you wanted to build space craft for interstellar travel, that will give some protection to the occupants or equipment on board, from radiation and micrometeorite storms and such, then a rock shaped like oumuamua would be what i would use, the shape is narrow and long so from almost every angle you look at it, you get a very narrow target making it less likely to get hit, being rock, it would most likely give more protection from radiation. i would want to conserve as much power and fuel as possible so systems would only come on at selected times. i would also use the suns of other solar systems on the way to the crafts destination to gain more speed via sling shot maneuvers, just like oumuamua did, what they continue to leave out when they talk about oumuamua is that the "space rock" not only changed speed, it also changed course, which gave it the optimal course and speed to gain a very good sling shot around our sun, but it was just a rock guys nothing to see here, the fact it altered course and speed, where oumuamua changed course and speed, there is nothing in the vicinity that would have caused that to happen naturally, with nature out of the picture the only other explanation has to be intelligence, at some point just before the course and speed change, certain systems came online, took heading and speed readings and course plot, calculated a more optimal course and speed for a better sling shot, set that course and speed then shut down, hence when NASA (Never A Straight Answer) took some readings and could find no evidence of heat as would be expected if power were being used, the evidence of such was absent because it had already been shut down for days, such a picture would most likely not pick up the power use if a system was operating on minimal power just to run a timer.
if what i wrote above has any truth to it, i dont know, i can only go by the things i saw and heard at the time from various sources, im no conspiracy theorist, but there are, within the scientific community certain things you do not do, not if you want to keep your funding and standing within the community, you do not come out with a theory that aliens are the reason and you do not come out against climate change, either is career suicide, this to me is unscientific and actually hurts the scientific communities credibility, most science begins with someones theory, a theory they come up with in order to answer a question, test are then done to either prove or disprove that theory, no tests could be done on oumuamua, we dont have the technology or craft that could have reached it to do any test to prove or disprove that aliens were involved or not, as such, the theory that it could have been an alien craft is just as valid as it being just a weird shaped asteroid, a shape never before seen or theorized could exist, it goes against just about everything we know about how they are created.
Space actually has friction so the idea of making a non aerodynamic spaceship would be stupid, especially if they have technology to move at light speed or faster
