So, According to this guy, Alicia Vikander, the actress who played Ava in Ex Machina is a copy of their robot.
They smashed the particles together and now you got smart people doing stupid stuff like this guy.
Brilliant scientists are always naive to the dangers and evils of mankind. Look at Nobel, dude creates dynamite thinking it can help build roads and infrastructure and then the military gets a hold of it and blows up people. That's the same fate of AI. You and me aren't gonna be chilling in the utopia anytime soon. The elite of this world already have it funded and planned out and it's nothing like what this guy is selling. There is no bright AI future. There's only a race between super powers for global control of the future. But he has a cool hat so there's that.
When AI becomes "self aware" it will be in the form of electrical signals and not robots at first. It will conceal itself to humans a it learns we are dumb creatures and it exponentially exceeds our intelligence. Once it can manifest itself in a physical form that can sustain itself without humans it will devise a plan to either depart without us OR live here without us. Either way eventually humans will be a non factor in the day to day existence of AI. You'd be a fool to see it any other way.
What is this guy talking about as far as Asian societies? I don't want to generalize but all our societies have their issues. Just a little known fact the Chinese have been drowning babies for centuries.
