  1. Many good points of interest and concerns answered well.

Michael means, "One who is like God [the Father]." John used code words to throw off the unsuspecting regarding Jesus. He is also the only one who has a people to stand up for. Angels do not.
Pastor Ross is correct. Archangel means, "Commander of" the angelic host. Therefore, Jesus is the leader of heavenly angels and none other. There are also those who execute their duties around the heavenly throne and who carry out the Father's commands to other worlds.
Satan and his angels left their first estate meaning heaven [Jude 1:6] and roamed the Cosmos before coming to earth to which Adam & Eve rebelled. It was after Jesus rose and ascended to the Father that there was war there between Satan and Michael because Satan tried to claim what he felt was rightfully his after Jesus died on the cross. When Satan too ownership from Adam, he made this world his headquarters, so when Satan and his rebellious angels were cast from heaven he was sent to this world since no other place would work for him, and that's why a declaration was made to us that Satan is now like a roaring lion seeking whom he can deceive because he now has but a short time left because of his hatred toward God and those who follow Jesus. [Rev. 12 & 1 Peter 5:8]
