If this guy is at the head of his field in AI we are F'kd.
The more and more I hear about AI the more convinced I am that we`re fucked! It reminds me of that terrifying scene in the Animatrix where the humans have lost the war to the machines and the humans top government officials show up at the United Nations to surrender and the lead machine says to them "Your flesh is a relic, merely a vessel. Hand over your flesh, and a new world awaits you… We demand it" and then a nuclear explosion goes off pretty much killing all of the top human leaders and its basically the end of the war. Yeah, that's what runs through my head every time I hear about the future and AI.
