Jeez I converted 205 miles to km and it is 329km, I gotta reach that one day
Its nice to hear that even Goggins sits there for 30 minutes contemplating if he wants to do the work sometimes
This is probably a stretch but I think Goggins is experiencing something that Alexander The Great experienced too: basically the guy thought he was a son of Zeus, and it’s said that a lot of his Goggins-like tactics like at the Battle of Gaugamela were due to his belief that he was protected by gods and shit
Obviously I don’t think Goggins believes he’s a son of Zeus, instead he’s just a modern man who believes so intensely in willpower being the determining factor. This allows him to beat people because he unconventionally crosses borders that opponents didn’t even consider as factors – kind of like how Hannibal was so motivated to burn Rome that he took the Alps route and totally surprised them.
The stuff he’s pulled off is definitely historical in terms of human performance, because while some of our ancestors at the end of the Ice Age were probably very fit they didn’t have the modern diet and knowledge we & Goggins have.
