A lot of "comedians" like Dave Chappelle or Tracy Morgan just share bigoted opinions in a manner they think is witty. That garbage isn't funny at all, I guess unless you're a bigot in which case it's hilarious to you or at least a relief to you to hear your own prejudices parrotted back at you from someone "important" enough to have a microphone. You can make fun of everyone and still not be bigoted about it. Nobody and nothing is off limits, but there are ways to go about it that are still funny while not punching down. Lisa Lampanelli said if you can take a d*ck then you can take a joke. That's hilarious. Tracy Morgan said if his son came out he'd stab him in the chest. That's not funny. At all. That's just horrifying bigotry and insanity. If he had said he'd stab him with a d!ldo, that might have been almost funny, but it was just a threat of murdering a gay person for being gay and there's no humor there. Hannah Gadsby might have mocked straight white men, but that's still punching up technically and It was also very #notallstraightwhitemen 🤣
Hannah Gadsby is hilarious! She definitely threw in a lot of trauma in Nanette and parts of it were not funny, but huge swaths of it were hysterical. The next two specials she did were really funny, too. If you hated it, it wasn't for you and that's ok. Not everything was made for you.
Watched the entire thing and didn't even crack a smile… "What are men's nipples? Better paid?" What?

Hannah Gadsby is genuinely not funny and this is a solid example that Joe isn’t always right. More often than not but yeah. She’s not funny at all.
