1. Make them as accountable to the law as average Joe Citizen. 2. Require them to have full fiscal transparency so everyone can see their personal finances. 3. Revoke pretty much all "benefits" of being in political office so it's not a career goal.
Lessig defends Sanders for taking a hit when DNC sabotaged his Prez efforts – citing the salvation of the Democratic party as his mission ~ But Lessig fails to mention that AFTER the election Sanders STILL laid down and took it in the butt !|!|!
Lessig is a very smart guy. Unfortunately it will get him nowhere, because he is deeply partisan, and deeply partisan people will do nothing but continue to divide this country.
The reason Joe Rogan is so popular is that he is NOT DEEPLY PARTISAN. He is pragmatic. He calls Republicans and Democrats alike out on their bullshit.
This is why I'm a fan of Pete Buttigieg. When interviewed, he was asked that not every issue can be first, so what's the VERY first issue you're going to tackle on Day 1 if you are elected?
"Democratic reforms." "Not single payer or other Democratic talking points?" "No, because you can't get any of that done without fixing the broken system first."
He gets it. Bernie can talk about the Banks all he wants, but until he starts talking about fixing the problems inherent in the system, it all means nothing.
