  1. donations outside of election years should be illegal, election campaigns should have spending caps, and wages for politicians should be locked at specific paygrades which they cannot vote to increase.

  2. He expects the corrupt system… to correct it's own corruption. Government itself is the problem… you cannot create a system of centralized power, and give it a monopoly on violence, and a monopoly on currency, and a monopoly on laws… and expect it to remain the idealized fantasy revision… regardless of how many checks and balances there are. It is a system that invites corrupt individuals to infiltrate it and take control of it, and then circumvent any checks and balances in the interest of garnering more power and control… and it grows and grows, until there is little that can be done to stop it… short of revolution or it imploding on itself.

He complains about all the methods of being able to veto a bill that would threaten their status quo… yet believes that a properly written bill can solve the problem. Is he forgetting that no such bill has a chance in hell of passing?

If you don't want money to have that kind of power… then there shouldn't be a government that has that power to dole out in the first place. He is not seeing the root cause of the problem.

  3. If he doesn't understand that people vote with their dollars… they send a message through their dollars… he doesn't understand speech. Free Speech applies to all forms of expression… not just verbal, not just written. He does not get to prescribe which forms of speech are acceptable or not.

  4. Bernie obviously knows about the lobbying and corruption problem, it’s why he doesn’t take the money. He, like Joe said, is playing the game to make sure he doesn’t get attacked relentlessly by the money. He’d rather make sure he wins then address it, instead of talk about it now and get destroyed in the primary.
