  1. In a federal election the state should not have influence over the rules. Eliminate 2 electoral votes which represent the senators and you're left with one vote per district. Simply allocate the electoral votes district by district. Simple, you get one person one vote and electoral college representation. It funny how the fed mandates all sorts of actions by the states except in this situation.

  2. The EC is an antiquated system that was designed in a time when mass communication did not exist and does not work anymore. If the United States was being set up today and someone came in with the idea of the electoral college they would be laughed out of the room. One person one vote and every vote counts is the most democratic way, and the only people still interested in keeping the current system in place or people living in swing states and the party that has won the presidential election but lost the popular vote three times now.

  3. His claim about the proportional electorate is something I've been hoping for, for yeeaaars now. Spot on!

Also, this dude is insane if he thinks a direct popular vote election won't result in ignoring the fly-over states.. like..he ALREADY made the case that candidates are ignoring sections of the country without power, I don't see how he thinks they wouldn't do that in this scenario as well!?

  4. A lot stuff made more sense when you much smaller place rules didn't take in to account expanded population. Sure at time chance someone could win collage and lose popular vote 0 too none just low but system can't work with number of people
