Having just read HR 1: It will not fix camapign finance. It requires sites like Facebook and Twitter to disclose the money spent for ads, as well as would require PACs to disclose their money as well. Seeing the leftist control companies like Mastercard and Paypal have to control who gets money and who doesnt, as well as the way Obama weaponized the IRS, I do not feel comfortable with a lefist bill that gives them more ammo to censor the opposition. Lets remember that Citizen's United was ruled based on allowing an Anti-Hilary movie to be shown in theaters.
The only problem is, is that if the Pubs don't have their super PACs, the Dems would have all the welfare recipients and blue hairs voting them in everytime, so all of it is just a balancing act.

Lessig didn't breakdown Citizen's United. Read the opinion yourselves – it is very accessible. What Lessig did is regurgitate the Democratic talking points so the uniformed would believe that they are now informed. It is essential to understand that Citizen's United was brought by Hillary Clinton against and LLC that sought to distribute a movie painting her in a bad light. Clinton sought to stifle speech critical of her, not because it was true, but because it would hurt her election chances. SCOTUS said that Clinton could not stifle the speech just because it came from an LLC. Lessig, as a law professor, should know better. But he doesn't because he is a partisan hack.
