Competition also generates negatives. Not correct to only look at the positives

The government needs to intervene and break up monopolies to create competition? The government was the source of the monopolies! Patent laws and licensure implemented by the government along with billion dollar bailouts is what stifles competition. The internet was not a result from government intervention and this is economic illiteracy at its finest. Milton Friedman is surely rolling in his grave.
