Disagree u have stuff like cannibal holocaust or spit on my grave or last house on the left from the 70s there has always been violence on t.v the difference is the special effects are great and cgi is 100 times better but there was alot of racism on t.v back in the day and was the norm back then but what makes game of thrones any different from watching saving private Ryan or we were soldiers does making it a war movie that was based on real events make the violence any easier to watch
Most people in the modern world don't experience real life & death situations so they are curious I think
There's a certain frame of mind wherein watching extreme violence is extremely upsetting and unbearable
