My encounter w/ racism: Waiting for an appointment w/ social worker (1st come, 1st served)….. receptionist is of a different race than me…. all of the other folks waiting are same race as receptionist… five people who came in after me are called (out of order) before me.
What race am I? What race are the receptionist and the other people? Can't tell???
What if I tell you that the director that I complained to was the same race as myself?? Can you tell now??
How about if I tell you that the state was Texas? Can't tell?
All I can say is that minorities CAN be racist….even in an institutional way.

ive thought a lot about this idea that we should be compelled to use proper gender pronouns. In a way inst that morphing our fundamental right to view the world a way that we see fit. If i see someone and to me they are a he do i not have the right to identify the world the way I see it.
